All Weather Trent Class
Lifeboat

14-37 RNLB Betty Huntbatch
As its name suggests the All-Weather
Trent Class Lifeboat is designed to be operated in all weather conditions.
The Trent class lifeboat was first introduced in 1994, has a top speed of 25
knots and carries a crew of 6/7. Designed to lie afloat at deep water moorings or at
berth the sheerline sweeps down for ease of survivor recovery and the hull is of a 'hard chine' design.
Our Trent class lifeboat 14-37 "Betty
Huntbatch" was placed on station at the end of September 2004. It replaced
the older Arun class lifeboat 52-46 "Duke of Atholl" which had a top speed
of 18 knots.
