Established 1803

List of Hartlepool Lifeboats

1802 - 1836 "Lifeboat"

            No.4 North Country type based on Greatheads' design.  Built in 1802 by George Hunter of Hartlepool for the sum of £300 including boathouse and carriage.

1836 - 1854 "Lifeboat"

            No.49 North Country type.  Built in 1836 by William Wake of Sunderland at a sum of £100 for the Tees Bay Lifeboat Society.

1841 - 1876 "Lifeboat"

            No.54 North Country type.  Built in 1841 by John Cambridge of Hartlepool at a cost of £165 for the Tees Bay Lifeboat Society.

1854 - 1875 "Lifeboat"

            No.5.  Built in 1854 by Mr Hawksworth of Torquay for the Hartlepool Seamans Lifeboat Association.

1854 - 1876 "Lifeboat"

            No.67 North Country type.  Built in 1854 by Wm. Robinson of Hartlepool for the Hartlepool Lifeboat Association.

1858 - 1878 "Lifeboat"

            No.70 North Country type.  Built in 1858 by Pounder and Wilkinson of Hartlepool.

1876 - 1889 "Charles Mather"

            No.80.  Built in 1875 by Forrestt and Son of Limehouse for the RNLI.

1875 - 1887 "Charles Ingleby"

            No.4 o.n. 131.  Built in 1875 by Forrestt of Limehouse for the RNLI.

1878 - 1887 "John Clay Barlow"

            No.86.  Built in 1878 by Messrs. Wolffe and Son of Shadwell.

1887 - 1906 & 1908 - 1915 "Charles Ingleby (2)"

            No.131 o.n.131.  Built in 1887 by Edwards and Symes of Millwall.

1887 - 1902 "Cyclist"

            No.119 o.n.125.  Built in 1887 by Forrestt.

1889 - 1915 "Ilminster"

            No.172 o.n.242  Built in 1889 by D. and W. Henderson of Partick

1916 - 1923 "Gem"

            No.64 o.n. 586.  Built in 1906 and Stationed in Atherfield I.O.W., Hartlepool 1916.
